Healthy Ecological Architecture

Research in to the rethinking the industrial city centers of the 21st century from a holistic environmental, ecologicial, toxicological, economic, sociological, political & spiritual perspective. I personally am approaching the problem from an ecological as well as a toxicological - public health and occupational health perspective.

Baleen Filtration Systems instead of settling tanks

Bacter-Basics's "Core Technology" resulted from many years research into waste treatment at the University of Queensland, Australia. The University of Queensland sold the core technology and know-how to Bacter-Basics in 1996.

Between 1996 and 2003, Bacter-Basics has lodged an additional six (6) International Patent Applications relating to the treatment of greasetrap waste, piggery waste and BNR sewage sludge.

"‘Baleen’ can be used in many different stages of the wastewater treatment process, and in many different industries.

‘Baleen’ is able to absolutely separate suspended solids from any liquid based stream to 25 micron, and can be used for selective separation of suspended solids or other matter (such as oil, grease, blood or semi-aqueous constituents) to a specific micron rating.

‘Baleen’ has been used in pre-filtration for higher-level filter technology for reduced maintenance and operating costs, and is also used in cleanup of backwash streams using flocculation techniques.

All of this is achieved with no blinding of the filter media, and no backwash streams are produced with solids collected in a de-watered or spade-able, natural mass."
